I love Athena’s work. I had a chance to meet her at a workshop with another amazing artist, Leah Macdonald. Her art combines old/antique photographs with mixed media and creates these absorbing images that make me wonder who these people are and why she chose to decorate their likenesses the way she did. Really cool stuff. Check out her site here.

Love the frozen motion in this image. The motion is visibly stopped, but psychologically I can feel that sensation of leaping and jumping. And it makes me think back to the days when we played outside and had fun as kids. The light and color are amazing. Great shot, whoever took it.
This is a totally random watermark left on my bedside table after I picked up a glass of iced water. It looks like a face.
